About the Job
Schroeder Lab requires assistance on recently funded RISNA service contracts looking at virus inactivation dynamics by various chemical mitigants and antivirals.
Work Environment- In VMC
- Mainly in-person
- 8am - 4:30pm
- 40 hours/week
- For 67 days
- (30%) Perform virus culturing, isolation, and inactivation of viruses in the secure BSL-2 microbiology lab
- (30%) Perform DNA/RNA extractions on virus samples
- (30%) Perform molecular assays such as qPCR on extracted DNA/RNA
- (10%) Maintain detailed lab book and write reports
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Biology/Molecular Biology or equivalent
Preferred Qualifications
- Basic molecular biology lab skills and an understanding of sterile techniques
- Pay Range: $24.00/hr, depending on education/qualifications/experience.
Retirement plan options are available for Civil Service, Faculty, Labor-Represented, Professional & Administrative, and Temp Casual classifications.
