Project Wetland Scientist

Midwest Wetland Improvements is growing our wetland sciences practice and looking for an experienced wetland scientist to join us for project work, with the flexibility to take on as much or as little as you want.

As a Wetland Scientist supporting a growing practice, you will play a critical role in both the field and the office. You will run delineations, evaluate mitigation and restoration sites, carry projects through monitoring and reporting, oversee contractors, and help write the permits and environmental review documents that tie it all together. As work comes in, you'll be brought into the projects with work sized to the project load and built around what you are looking for.

This is a great fit for a seasoned professional who is looking to ramp back up in the professional world, or step back from a demanding schedule and is not ready to stop doing work that matters. Focus on the projects that interest you, set your own pace, and, if you are inclined, pass on what you know to the next generation of our team.

It is an equally good fit for an established scientist who wants to bring existing client relationships to a firm that will let them run with them.

You should have 10+ years of field experience (consulting preferred) delineating wetlands according to the Corps of Engineers Wetlands Delineation Manual and the applicable Regional Supplements in Minnesota and Wisconsin. You also need experience designing wetland restorations, a working understanding of the applicable regulations, and mitigation banking experience in Minnesota and Wisconsin.
