Sheriff's Office Correctional Officer
The current vacancies are in the Sheriff's Office. The eligibility list created by these vacancies may be used to hire other vacancies in the department or County. To maintain security and ensure the safety of residents and staff at the Ramsey County Law Enforcement Center; to observe and monitor resident behavior and supervise and facilitate their daily living activities; to maintain ongoing communication with those confined;
to enforce all rules, regulations, and policies of the facility; and to perform related duties as assigned. (This is the entry level of this class series. Employees in this class are expected to perform duties and to gain and apply knowledge, skills and abilities required for advancement to Correctional Officer 2, the full performance level.)

Correctional Officer 1 Minimum Qualifications
Education:
High School diploma or equivalent.
Experience:
Any combination of general work experience or post high school education that equals two years.

Correctional Officer 2 Minimum Qualifications
Education:
High School Graduate or Equivalent.
Experience:
Any combination of general work experience or post high school education that equals two years; and two additional years of experience as a Correctional Officer 1 (General Duty) or equivalent.
