AIP is looking for a Team Lead Training Officer to work in St. Paul, MN. To join our team of outstanding professionals, apply today! The Team Lead/Training Officer (TLTO) directly supports the program requirements for the Contract by serving as dual roles as both the team lead and training officer. The TLTO achieves program objectives by interfacing with customers and supervising a diverse team of Custody Officers.

Responsibilities include supporting the program manager's daily operations relative to contract management, security, scheduling, training, and overseeing daily on-site operations. The TLTO will have excellent team management skills, analytical and problem-solving skills, and dynamic customer engagement and relationship management abilities. The TLTO will operate independently with limited supervision and feedback, be a strong team player, and can establish solid working relationships with staff members, peers, and our external Government customers.

The TLTO delivers training programs for detention staff, ensuring they are equipped to handle the challenges of working in detention operations. This includes conducting classroom and firearms range training sessions, proctoring exams to assess comprehension, and maintaining meticulous records of training completed. The TLTO shall be a certified instructor and obtain certification from a state or nationally level recognized institution.

Certification of the TLTO may be established by documentation of experience in teaching positions or by successful completion of a course of training for qualifying personnel as instructors. The Training Officer shall possess in-depth knowledge of the ICE National Detention Standards (NDS) through experience working in an ICE hold room/detention facility. In-depth knowledge of the American Correctional Association standards is acceptable in lieu of NDS knowledge.

The Training Officer shall obtain certification as a certified firearms instructor and as a Red Cross certified CPR/AED First Aid instructor. Responsibilities
* The TLTO is responsible for the field supervision of Detention Officers.

* Provide supervision, guidance and on-the-job training to improve Detention Officer skills, reinforcing the critical nature of the Detention Officer's responsibilities

* Responsible for assuring consistent delivery of service regardless of shift or location, for taking immediate action to correct problems detected and for responding whenever called upon.

* Briefs Detention Officers during muster and post checks regarding any changes in Post Orders, or any unusual or emergency situations.

* Conducts on-the-job training to correct deficiencies in Detention Officer Performance, or to strengthen and refresh Detention Officer knowledge of critical skills and issues.

* Reports any emergency to the PM and/or COR.

* Document incidents with complete and accurate verbal and written reports.

* Reviews the sign-in/out sheets to ensure proper timekeeping by Detention Officers.

* Manages break schedules and ensure that all Detention Officers receive breaks and proper relief.

* Provides oversight and management and direct reporting of detainee counts.

* Assist detention officers to deal with any incident of disturbance or lack of cooperation from a detainee.

* Inspect every area of the facility where detainees are present, at least once per shift.

* Responsible for the operational functions and duties required in operating a hold room/detention center; including detention, processing, administration and transportation operations as required in the contract.

* Provides effective leadership and supervision of all subordinate personnel.

* Schedules adequate staffing for all assigned posts and ensure that minimum manning standards are maintained.

* Ensure duties are accomplished as directed in the contract. Perform other duties as assigned.

* Inspires and motivates employees to perform duties to ensure contract compliance.

* Ensures Detention Officers are trained in the expectations and requirements of their duties.

* Provide timely and ongoing feedback to the PM on employee performance.

* Motivates and provides recognition to exemplary employees.

* Enforces ICE National Detention Standards, policies, procedures and orders related to custody, care and treatment of detainees in holding room facilities.

* Conducts daily quality assurance inspections of their areas of responsibility; including detention facilities, posts, equipment, uniforms and knowledge of post orders, ICE National Detention Standards and current policies, procedures and regulations of all subordinate contract personnel.

* Corrects discrepancies on-the-spot as appropriate.

* Responsible for the effective and efficient control, operation and security of the hold room/detention facility.

* Duties are performed in a hold room/detention facility environment, working with a wide variety of people from different cultures, backgrounds and speaking various languages, while performing multiple functions.
