Position Summary: Perform general maintenance work involving plumbing repairs, service and repair to air conditioner units, minor electrical repair, light carpentry, as well as assist with supervision of student employees as needed.

• Perform General Building Maintenance:
  Carry out routine repairs and upkeep across campus facilities, including basic plumbing, minor electrical work, light carpentry, masonry, and equipment/furniture assembly/repair.
• Maintain Air‑Conditioning Systems:
  Service, troubleshoot, and repair window units and packaged terminal air conditioners to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable operation.
• Conduct Preventative Maintenance:
  Implement scheduled preventative maintenance activities for building systems, equipment, and infrastructure to reduce downtime and extend service life.
• Plan and Coordinate Maintenance Projects:
  Plan and schedule projects as they pertain to maintenance.
• Support Seasonal and Operational Needs:
  Assist with snow removal and other campus operational requirements as needed, including availability to work on-call for snow emergencies.
• Assist Student Employee Supervision:
  Assist with the supervision of student employees, inspecting work, providing guidance on proper tool use, and ensuring a safe working environment.
• Perform other duties as requested or assigned.

Required:

• High school diploma or GED equivalent
• Continually nurture a personal relationship with Jesus Christ; serve as a consistent witness for Jesus Christ; maintain a kind, Christ-like attitude in dealing with and ministering to people within and outside of Northwestern; and faithfully uphold and embrace Northwestern’s mission, doctrinal statement, and Declaration of Christian Community.

• Trade school degree/training
• Three (3) years' of previous maintenance experience

  Ability to perform basic plumbing repairs/modifications, basic carpentry skills and minor electrical repairs/modifications.
• Flooring Installation:
  Ability to install carpet and tile.
• Student Employee Supervision:
  Ability to direct student employees in proper use of all tools, lifting techniques, and repair of equipment.
• Electrical Fundamentals:
  Knowledge of basic electrical principles.
• Air Conditioner Maintenance:
  Knowledge of basic air conditioner repair and maintenance.
• Written & Verbal Communication:
  Strong writing, editing, proofreading, and verbal communication skills.
• Flexibility:
  Willingness to work occasional evenings and weekends as needed, including on-call to assist with snow removal for snow emergencies.
• Driver’s License:
  Valid driver's license and access to reliable transportation.
• Background Check:
  Must pass initial and ongoing background checks as a condition of employment.
