Seasonal Pipe fitters – Antarctica Remote Camp Deployment

Antarctic Support Contract (ASC) is hiring seasonal Pipe fitters to support the National Science Foundation’s U.S. Antarctic Program at McMurdo Station. This role involves pipe welding, structural welding, and piping installation in one of the most extreme environments on earth. Work includes maintenance and construction projects in severe cold conditions. Ideal candidates are experienced 6G-certified welders who are comfortable working outdoors and living in a remote, team-focused station community.

• High School diploma or GED
• Previous 6G welding certification at time of hire
• Ability to pass 6G welding certification exam prior to deployment
• Minimum 4 years of pipe fitting and pipe welding experience
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and specifications
• Valid U.S. Driver’s License
• Willingness to deploy to Antarctica for extended periods
• Successful completion of medical, dental, drug screening, and federal background checks
• U.S. Citizenship required for facility credentials
• Ability to perform physically demanding work in extreme cold

• Experience working with a variety of pipe materials
• Brazing experience
• Rigging experience
• Prior cold weather welding experience
