Compensation
$18.00 hourly, starting rate for new locators; up to $24.50 hourly for experienced locators.
Job DescriptionWe are looking for a reliable field locator who enjoys independent outdoor work and is committed to safety and quality. This full‑time daytime position requires independent field work, use of your own company‑provided vehicle, and accurate marking of underground utilities.
Your Responsibilities as a Locator- Correctly, safely, and efficiently locate underground utilities, including telecommunications, electric power, cable TV, gas, water, and sewer systems.
- Thoroughly search for underground utilities in a designated area, accurately mark the location, complete the necessary documentation, and photograph each locate.
48‑hour turnaround on many locates means you may work the day after holidays and some weekends. Must be able to work overtime, weekend shifts, on‑call shifts (including nights and weekends) as the business requires.

- Able to pass a drug screen (safety‑sensitive position).
- Valid driver’s license and a safe driving record.
- Able to work in a confined space; walk, bend, and lift up to 75 lbs.
- Able to distinguish between colors used to identify wiring and mark underground utilities.
- Able to read, understand, and reference locate tickets, maps, and prints.
- Able to communicate clearly with colleagues, customers, contractors, and homeowners.
