Maintenance Technician / Mechanic, Building Maintenance
Tesoro Group is seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician to join one of our client’s team at (3) of their properties in Little Canada/Columbia Heights, MN (55127/55421). The ideal candidate will have 2 years’ experience in residential maintenance, have experience with unit turns, have knowledge of basic maintenance, be self‑motivated, be able to organize multiple tasks throughout the day, and be self‑sufficient.
This role is contracted for 1–3 weeks but could be extended due to workload.
Salary: $21–$24/hour DOQ.
Schedule: Monday – Friday 8am - 5pm.
Responsibilities andJob Duties:
- Provide a variety of skilled building maintenance including repairs to sinks, windows, floors, and other parts of the building.
- Maintain the grounds as assigned which may include trash pick‑up, shoveling, and sweeping curb/dumpster area, maintaining landscape beds and other areas.
- Preparation of vacant units for occupancy which may include cleaning responsibilities.
- Install, repair (including soldering) and maintain various plumbing; heating and air conditioning fixtures; perform metal fabrication and welding.
- Installation and repair of major and minor appliances (e.g., washer, dryer, refrigerator, stove, microwave, dishwashers, etc.).
- Troubleshoot maintenance issues, diagnose problems, replace and/or repair parts, test and make necessary adjustments to ensure issues are resolved.
- Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs as needed.
- Complete minor work orders such as snake toilets/drains, repair/replace leaking faucets, remove/replace caulking, replace different components of toilets, adjust/replace door closures, and replace locks, deadbolts, and passage locks.
- Always demonstrate courteous and efficient customer service.
- Lead and mentor other maintenance technicians onsite.
Experience:
1–3 years’ experience in residential maintenance – unit turns, work orders and preventative maintenance.
- Have own tool set.
- Punctual and reliable.
- Be able to pass a background check before employment.
