I'm currently partnering with a well-established national mechanical contractor that is looking to add a Building Automation Systems (BAS) Specialist to their growing team. This organization has built a strong reputation for delivering complex mechanical and controls projects across commercial, industrial, healthcare, manufacturing, education, and mission-critical facilities.
If you have experience commissioning, programming, troubleshooting, or servicing Building Automation Systems and enjoy working in the field with a high level of autonomy, I'd love to connect.
Responsibilities- Perform Building Automation System commissioning, startup, and sequence of operation testing.
- Complete point-to-point verification of controllers, sensors, actuators, and field devices.
- Troubleshoot and resolve BAS, controls, and mechanical system issues to optimize system performance.
- Create and modify system graphics, floor plans, and operator interface dashboards.
- Review project drawings, specifications, and sequences of operation to ensure systems are installed correctly.
- Verify proper installation and functionality of controls equipment and field devices.
- Calibrate sensors and adjust control systems for optimal building performance.
- Diagnose system faults and recommend corrective actions or efficiency improvements.
- Perform preventive maintenance, service, repairs, and control panel inspections.
- Document service activities, commissioning reports, punch lists, and project closeout documentation.
- Provide customer training on system operation and functionality.
- Mentor and support junior technicians while promoting best practices and quality workmanship.
- 2+ years of experience working with Building Automation Systems (BAS).
- Experience commissioning, servicing, programming, or troubleshooting BAS controls.
- Working knowledge of HVAC systems, mechanical equipment, and control sequences.
- Understanding of building systems, electrical controls, and construction practices.
- Ability to interpret mechanical drawings, wiring diagrams, and project documentation.
- Experience performing point-to-point checkout, startup, and system verification.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- Associate's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field is preferred but not required.
Experience with one or more of the following Building Automation platforms is highly desirable:
- Siemens
- Johnson Controls (Metasys)
- Honeywell
- Trane Tracer
- Automated Logic (ALC)
- Alerton
