Recruitment Specialist at Minnesota Department of Transportation

Work in Fort Snelling repairing heavy equipment and trucks, including diagnostics using advanced technology software to troubleshoot mechanical and electrical/electronic problems. Responsibilities include repairs and maintenance on engines, drive trains, hydraulic and emission systems for various equipment, some operating in corrosive environments. Equipment types include heavy and light-duty vehicles (E85 and Bio-diesel Vehicles), specialized snow and ice control equipment, construction, and road maintenance machinery.

This role may involve working in remote field locations, truck stations, shops, and other sites as needed.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Completion of a Heavy Equipment Apprenticeship or graduation from a two-year Heavy Equipment Mechanic training program, including diagnosis and repair of engines, drive trains, brakes, steering/suspension, hydraulics, electronics, and proficiency with computerized testing equipment and onboard computers.

OR

Approximately 3 years of experience as a heavy equipment mechanic involving diagnosis, repair, maintenance, and modification of heavy-duty diesel trucks, equipment, and gasoline vehicles, including engine, brake, drive train, steering/suspension, hydraulics, electronics, and use of computerized testing tools.

Valid Driver’s License
