Heavy Equipment Mechanic

Con Global is seeking a Heavy Equipment Mechanic to keep our intermodal and terminal operations running safely and reliably. In this hands-on role, you will inspect, diagnose, and repair heavy equipment such as yard tractors, forklifts, top loaders, and chassis used in rail, ocean, and trucking operations. Responsibilities include performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting hydraulic, electrical, and diesel systems, documenting work in maintenance systems, and following strict safety procedures.

You'll work closely with operations teams in a fast-paced yard environment while gaining exposure to modern equipment, logistics processes, and growth opportunities in maintenance and operations across Con Global's North American network.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, diagnose, and repair heavy equipment used in intermodal and terminal operations
• Perform preventive maintenance on yard tractors, forklifts, top loaders, and chassis
• Troubleshoot and repair hydraulic, electrical, pneumatic, and diesel engine systems
• Document all work performed in maintenance and repair systems accurately and timely
• Follow and enforce all safety procedures, PPE requirements, and company policies
• Collaborate with operations teams to prioritize repairs and minimize equipment downtime
• Conduct equipment inspections and identify potential issues before failures occur
• Use diagnostic tools, manuals, and schematics to support accurate troubleshooting
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe shop and yard work area
• Support continuous improvement initiatives and training within the maintenance team
