Job DescriptionNorthland Sight & Sound is a Technology Systems Contractor with over 15 years of service in the Twin Cities area. We work with commercial and residential customers to design and install the latest in Audio Video, Monitored Security, CCTV Cameras, Access Control, Networking, Video Conferencing and more. We are currently accepting applications for a Low Voltage Installation Technician.
Job
Responsibilities include:
- Installation of low voltage cabling in new and existing buildings. The majority of our work is in existing buildings.
- Installation and service of audio/video systems, security systems,phone systems, custom audio/video solutions, wiring, cabling, componentrack installation, and other related technology equipment
- Reviewand understand project designs prior to installation
- Manageand complete installation work order and punch list
- Independently troubleshoot and work to resolve installation or equipment operation problems
- Interact with customers, builders, and other trades in a positive, professional manner.
- Occasionalout of town and overnight stays are required. The majority of our customers are within the Twin Cities metro area; however, we do haveclients in out-state MN and WI.

Job Requirements include:
- Good customer service and communication skills
- Positive attitude and good work ethic
- Goodtroubleshooting skills and ability to learn and use new skills successfully
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and complete tasks in a timely manner
- Work well with others including teammates, supervisors, customers, inspectors and other trades
- Lift up to70lbs, and install heavy equipment on walls and ceilings
- Ability to work safely on ladders and lifts
- Ability tooperate a variety of power tools and equipment
- Ability to workin difficult environments including attics and crawlspaces
- Attend training
- Have a valid driver's license and clean driving record
- Must passcriminal background check
Education and Experience:
- A Minimum of ahigh school diploma or GED is required
- Experience preferred but not required in the installation of residential or commercial low-voltage systems such as access control systems, networkequipment, Audio Video equipment, security systems, telecom systems, CCTV,etc.
- Experience installing,fixing, maintaining equipment in commercial and residential buildings is preferred but not required
- Strong understanding of commercial and residential construction and framing are preferred.
- Field experience preferred but not required, we will train the right person!
