ORGANIZATION OVERVIEW:

Face to Face Health and Counseling is a non-profit organization dedicated to advancing economic and health equity for youth ages 11–24. We do this work through a comprehensive approach that includes housing, mental health, medical, youth justice, education & employment, and community services. We take a strengths-based and trauma-informed approach to our work and center the needs of young people impacted by racism and other forms of oppression and marginalization.

Founded in 1972, Face to Face serves more than 3,000 youth annually.

JOB SUMMARY:

The Youth Justice Case Manager, with restorative practice experience, works with justice-involved youth ages 14-24 and their support systems. The Case Manager’s role is to work alongside justice-involved youth to repair harm, resolve outstanding issues within the justice system, and reduce the risk of further involvement. These services include but are not limited to skill building programs, mental health supports, creation of protective community, and services to address basic needs like housing, food, clothing, etc.

This position is 37.5 hours a week and requires availability on some evenings.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Provide case management services to youth
  • Manage youth caseload, conduct program enrollment interviews, risk/need assessments, and develop individualized service plans (ISPs) for referrals.
  • Coordinate and facilitate restorative justice processes, conferencing, and harmed individual – respondent dialogues.
  • Provide mentorship, advocacy, and guidance to youth and their families, connecting them to community resources (housing, education, mental health).
  • Track participant progress, ensure compliance with restorative contracts, and report to stakeholders (courts, probation, partners).
  • Meet regularly with youth to assist in meeting their goals
  • Meet with and establish a working relationship with the youth’s parents or other support individuals as appropriate
  • Respond to crisis situations and de-escalate in a calm and professional manner
  • Document youth outcomes in all appropriate databases and contribute to reports for funders
  • Develop and maintain relationships agency-wide and community-wide with youth serving programs and agencies
  • Collaborate with other staff and maintain teamwork style
  • Work closely with referring law enforcement agencies and partner organizations
  • Establish healthy and appropriate physical and emotional boundaries with youth
  • Support healthy adolescent development of youth
  • Provides all services guided by the evidence-based principles for helping youth overcome homelessness
  • Perform other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Minimum of B.A. degree in social services, extensive experience in lieu of degree
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience working with youth
  • Knowledge of and/or experience with the justice and/or juvenile justice system preferred
  • Experience with a positive youth development and harm reduction approach
  • Experience working with high-risk youth within a juvenile justice or restorative justice framework
  • Strong facilitation, mediation, and conflict resolution skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently, exercising good judgment and involving others when necessary
  • Good crisis management skills and the ability to navigate stressful situations well
  • Demonstrated ability to work and communicate effectively with people of diverse ethnic, economic, racial and cultural backgrounds
  • Valid driver’s license and current automobile insurance required
