Job Summary: Under the direction of the Director, Financial Opportunities, this position is responsible for providing one‑time resource navigation services to community members as well as establishing long‑term relationships with ongoing participants who are seeking dedicated support. The Community Resource Navigator will work with each individual—both short‑term and long‑term—to assess their unique needs, set goals, navigate resources, and identify supports to improve their households' financial stability.
EssentialFunctions Duties and Responsibilities Relationship Building, Goal Setting, and Action Planning
- Create a welcoming environment to greet participants seeking assistance.
- Conduct an initial intake with each community member to identify needs, strengths, preferences, and barriers to success.
- Determine the level of service each community member requires and provide either one‑time resource navigation services or long‑term trusting relationships with action plans.
- Monitor participant progress toward goals and action plan steps and provide ongoing support while they progress toward financial stability.
- Track progress and outcomes for both short‑term and long‑term participants.
- Provide services based on best practices, including person‑centered services, trauma‑informed care, and harm reduction models.
- Maintain participant confidentiality and personal identifiable information at all times.
- Research and connect participants with resources and programs that promote long‑term financial stability.
- Assist participants in preparing applications and securing required documentation to access resources and programs.
- Work collaboratively with participants to secure access to resources and programs, removing barriers as possible.
- Promote CAPRW services to communities, stakeholders, and partners.
- Work collaboratively with other agencies, institutions, and service providers to create a network of resources.
- Work collaboratively with other individuals helping participants with their goals (e.g., social workers, case managers, shelter providers, employers, educational institutions).
- Serve as a liaison between the participant and the systems they are accessing.
- Maintain accurate and complete records for all participants to document eligibility, services, and track outcomes.
- Assist in creating reports that accurately represent activities contributing to monthly, year‑end, program and long‑term outcomes consistent with agency, program and funder requirements.
- Assist with researching & developing communication materials and outreach strategies.
- Provide monthly, quarterly and annual program outcome reports.
- Maintain and support the program through coordination of office systems, databases, and file maintenance.
- Coordinate and work effectively with staff to assure smooth, timely and efficient operation of the program.
- Attend staff meetings, workshops, and program‑specific training sessions when appropriate.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

QualificationsEducation & Experience: Bachelor's degree in Human Services or a related field with 3 years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.
Abilities and Skills- Must be able to fulfill departmental objectives using initiative, self‑motivation, organizational skills, and sound judgment.
- Demonstrated experience in resource navigation and/or community resource support.
- Experience working one‑on‑one with clients and community members in need.
- Experience with trauma‑informed and/or strengths‑based case management or coaching.
- Professional and/or lived experience working with diverse low‑income communities and households.
- Ability to relate to and communicate effectively with a variety of multi‑ethnic and socio‑economic groups.
