Position Summary
The Stability Coach serves as the primary point of contact for participants enrolled in YWCA St. Paul's housing stabilization programs. This position provides comprehensive case management, coaching, advocacy, and resource coordination that helps individuals and families achieve housing stability while building pathways toward long-term economic mobility.
Working within the Velocity model, the Stability Coach partners with participants to identify goals, develop individualized stabilization plans, remove barriers, and connect participants with resources that support housing retention, employment, education, financial capability, health, and overall well-being.
The Stability Coach combines traditional housing case management with strengths-based coaching, motivational interviewing, participant accountability, and coordinated service delivery, while ensuring compliance with HUD, Minnesota Housing, Ramsey County, Continuum of Care, and other funding requirements.

Within Velocity, traditional case management evolves into participant-centered coaching that combines accountability, strengths-based practice, motivational interviewing, and coordinated service delivery, while ensuring full compliance with funding requirements. The Stability Coach is the participant's primary guide through the Stabilization domain.
Essential ResponsibilitiesParticipant Engagement & Coaching (40%)
- Serve as the primary Stability Coach for an assigned caseload of participants.
- Conduct comprehensive assessments and develop individualized stabilization plans.
- Use strengths-based coaching and motivational interviewing to promote participant ownership and accountability.
- Meet regularly with participants in office, home, virtual, and community settings.
- Monitor progress and adjust plans as participant needs evolve.
Housing Stabilization (15%)
- Support participants in obtaining and maintaining safe, stable housing.
- Assist with housing search, landlord communication, tenancy skills, crisis intervention, transfers, and exits.
- Educate participants regarding tenant rights and lease responsibilities.
Case Management & Resource Coordination (15%)
- Provide comprehensive case management addressing housing, employment, income, education, health, transportation, financial capability, and life skills.
- Coordinate referrals and advocate with landlords, employers, healthcare providers, schools, and community agencies.
- Assist participants in accessing benefits and community resources.
Documentation & Compliance (15%)
- Complete assessments, service plans, case notes, referrals, and required documentation within established timelines.
- Maintain accurate participant files using HMIS, Charity Tracker, and other required systems.
- Ensure compliance with HUD, Minnesota Housing, Ramsey County, Continuum of Care, ESG, confidentiality, and agency standards.
- Participate in audits, monitoring visits, and quality assurance reviews.
Community Collaboration (5%)
- Maintain strong relationships with community partners and participate in coordinated service planning.
- Represent YWCA St. Paul professionally in the community.
Team Participation (10%)
- Participate in meetings, trainings, and organizational initiatives.
