Position Overview

Hired is seeking a Family Coach who will develop trusting relationships with families through individualized coaching, family education, group connections, and referrals to community resources. Family Coaches provide child development and family education using Parents as Teachers’ (PAT) evidence-based curriculum and culturally responsive practices, with a focus on supporting positive child and family outcomes. Through regular home visits, Family Coaches facilitate developmentally appropriate parent-child activities, conduct screenings and make objective observations of children and caregivers to identify strengths, support growth, and empower caregivers in their parenting role.

This position is mostly in person with some opportunities for hybrid work and requires travel to meet with families in their home or community.

WHAT YOU BRING
  • Two years of education in early childhood education, social work, health, psychology, or a related field is recommended (or equivalent degree outside of the US) OR two years supervised work experience with young children and/or parents within a community setting.
  • Preferred Bilingual – Somali or Spanish
  • May require occasional evenings and weekends with flexible schedule

WHAT YOU WILL DORecruitment and Enrollment
  • Recruit and enroll new families in Hired’s Family Home Visiting Program, including through group connections and community outreach.
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with Hired staff and external community partners to support recruitment and referrals.
  • Provide prospective families with information about program services and support successful enrollment and engagement.
Home Visits
  • Build trusting relationships with families and create an environment in which caregivers feel supported, respected, and actively engaged in the home visiting process.
