Responsibilities- Own the test automation strategy across unit, integration, API, and end-to-end layers in a greenfield Azure-hosted application
- Design, build, and maintain a Playwright-based end-to-end test suite covering critical user journeys and regression scenarios
- Write API-level tests against .NET Web API endpoints, validating request/response contracts, error conditions, and edge cases
- Collaborate with developers during story refinement to define testable acceptance criteria and establish test coverage expectations before development begins
- Integrate automated test execution into Azure Dev Ops CI/CD pipelines, including gate configuration and failure triage ownership
- Develop and maintain test data strategies that support repeatable, deterministic automated test execution across environments
- Contribute to shift-left quality practices: participate in design reviews, flag testability gaps in proposed architectures, and influence how features are structured for observability
- Perform exploratory testing on new features prior to sprint completion, surfacing defects that automated suites do not yet cover
- Maintain test reporting and communicate quality metrics to the team and stakeholders in a format that supports informed release decisions
- Evaluate and introduce AI-assisted tooling for test generation, coverage gap analysis, or defect pattern identification where it adds measurable value
- 7 or more years of professional quality engineering or SDET experience in an application development environment
- Hands‑on proficiency with Playwright for end‑to‑end browser automation, including test architecture, fixture management, and CI integration
- Demonstrated ability to write and maintain API‑level tests against RESTful services, with an understanding of HTTP contracts, status codes, and response validation
- Working familiarity with C# and .NET sufficient to read, understand, and contribute to unit and integration test code in a .NET codebase
- Familiarity with Angular application architecture sufficient to write stable, resilient UI tests that are not brittle to implementation changes
- Experience integrating automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines, including Azure Dev Ops Pipelines or equivalent
- Experience designing test data strategies for automated testing across multiple environments, including approaches to setup, teardown, and isolation
- Understanding of test pyramid principles and the ability to make deliberate trade‑offs between unit, integration, and end‑to‑end coverage
- Comfort working in a small, cross‑functional Agile scrum team with shared ownership of quality as a team responsibility
- Experience with Git‑based source control and pull request workflows, including peer review of test code
- Experience with performance and load testing tooling (k6, Azure Load Testing, or equivalent) integrated into a CI/CD pipeline
- Familiarity with accessibility testing practices and tooling within a web application context
- Exposure to contract testing patterns (e.g., Pact) for validating API consumer and provider compatibility
- Experience with Azure‑native monitoring and observability tooling (Application Insights, Azure Monitor) as a complement to test coverage
- Active use of AI‑assisted tooling in a quality engineering context, such as AI‑assisted test case generation, coverage analysis, or natural language to test script workflows
- Experience contributing to a quality engineering practice definition, including documentation of standards, tooling decisions, and onboarding guidance for engineering teams
