Software Engineer I – Investments Technology
We are seeking a Software Engineer I to join our Investments Technology organization as we modernize a critical investment accounting platform and expand our cloud-native capabilities.
Compensation OverviewThe annual base salary range for this position is a nationwide market range and represents a broad range of salaries for this role across the country. The actual salary for this position will be determined by a number of factors, including the scope, complexity and location of the role; the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; and other conditions of employment.
As part of our comprehensive compensation and benefits program, employees are also eligible for performance-based cash incentive awards.

What Will You Do?- Perform analysis, design, development, and configuration functions and define technical requirements for assignments of intermediate complexity.
- Participate with the team to perform analysis, assessment, and resolution for defects and incidents of intermediate complexity and appropriately escalating.
- Work within team guidelines to independently tackle well‑scoped problems.
- Seek opportunities to expand technical knowledge and capabilities.
- Develop and maintain Java/Spring Boot microservices in a cloud‑hosted environment.
- Participate in CI/CD pipeline development and deployment automation using modern tooling.
- Work across both established and greenfield applications, including front‑end and back‑end layers.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Three years of programming/development experience.
- Intermediate delivery skills, including the ability to deliver work at a steady, predictable pace, decompose work into small batch releases, and contribute to trade‑off and negotiation discussions.
- Domain expertise, understanding of immediate systems worked on, and willingness to cooperate with business issues.
- Proven problem‑solving skills including debugging, root‑cause analysis, and solving repetitive problems.
- Strong communication skills to interact with team members, document work, and discuss constructive feedback.
- Intermediate leadership skills with self‑motivation to identify personal growth opportunities.
- Experience with Java and Spring Boot for backend service development.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS preferred) and containerized deployment concepts.
- Exposure to modern front‑end frameworks (React or similar) is a plus.
- Understanding of CI/CD practices and infrastructure‑as‑code mindset.
- Experience with relational databases, including SQL and schema management.
- Experience in financial services or investment accounting systems is a plus.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, related STEM field, or equivalent in education and/or work experience.
- Two additional years of software engineering experience.
