Our client, a leading Embedded Systems & Networking Technology company, is seeking a Firmware Engineer to join their team. As a Firmware Engineer, you will be part of the Embedded Systems team supporting Hardware Engineering and Networking teams. The ideal candidate will have strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and effective collaboration skills which will align successfully in the organization.

Location: Saint Paul Minnesota | Open to Relocate
Job Type: Contract 12+ months, USC only & W2
What’s the Job?- Design and develop Ethernet drivers and low-level firmware for FPGA-based embedded systems
- Integrate and optimize drivers for performance (latency, throughput, reliability) within embedded Linux environments
- Collaborate with hardware teams for board bring-up, validation, and MAC/PHY interface development
- Debug and troubleshoot hardware/software issues using tools such as JTAG, oscilloscopes, and protocol analyzers
- Develop and maintain documentation, unit tests, and validation scripts while ensuring IEEE 802.3 compliance
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field
- 3–5 years of experience in embedded firmware or driver development using C/C++
- Strong understanding of Ethernet protocols (MAC, PHY, TCP/IP) and embedded systems
- Experience with Linux or RTOS device driver development and FPGA tools (e.g., Xilinx Vivado)
- Knowledge of debugging techniques, memory management, interrupts, and concurrency
