One of our leading medical clients is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to join its Electrophysiology (EP) division in St. Paul, MN. This role focuses on enhancing and maintaining the INsight product through modern C++ application development. The engineer will work in an Agile environment, collaborating with software, hardware, firmware, and system engineering teams to develop desktop applications, graphics, algorithms, and business logic while supporting a large legacy codebase.
Responsibilities- Design, develop, and maintain desktop software applications using modern C++ (C++11/14/17).
- Develop GUI and graphics-based applications using OpenGL and Qt.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, stand‑ups, retrospectives, and code reviews.
- Debug, unit test, and troubleshoot complex software issues.
- Develop software architecture, design documentation, and technical specifications.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional engineering teams including hardware, firmware, and system engineering.
- Enhance existing applications while ensuring backward compatibility with legacy software.
- Implement algorithms and optimize application performance.
- Utilize Linux development environments and engineering tools including Jira, Jenkins, DOORS, and SharePoint.
- Maintain high software quality through testing and continuous improvement.

- 5–6+ years of professional software development experience.
- Strong experience developing applications in modern C++.
- Experience with desktop GUI development using OpenGL.

- Experience participating in Agile software development teams.
- Qt framework experience preferred.
- CUDA/GPU programming experience is a plus.
- Signal processing, computational geometry, and algorithm development experience is preferred.
- Medical device, aviation, or automotive industry experience is a plus.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
