St. Paul Academy and Summit School seeks candidates for the position of Boys Assistant Tennis Coach.

St. Paul Academy and Summit School (SPA) is a coeducational, non-sectarian, college-preparatory day school serving more than 920 students in kindergarten through grade 12. Our two campuses are located approximately a mile apart in St. Paul, Minnesota, serving Grades K-5 on our Goodrich Campus and Grades 6-12 on our Randolph Campus. The school draws students from St. Paul, Minneapolis, and throughout the eastern and western suburbs.

Pay Range: $2,000- $4,000 based on experience and qualifications

St. Paul Academy and Summit School is seeking applicants for the position of Boys Assistant Tennis Coach. The minimum time commitment includes potential weekday practice times after 3:00 p.m. and all matches. Weekends included as the schedule demands. The season runs from March through June each year.

• Creating a positive environment that promotes good sportsmanship towards opponents, spectators, and teammates
• Assist with instruction of players in rules, regulations, skills, and strategy of tennis
• Collaborate with the Head Varsity coach to create organized and effective practices that progress throughout the season
• Organizes and directs individual and small group practice activities
• Provide effective supervision and evaluation of all athletes during practice and competition
• Tracking student-athlete progress
• Follow established protocol in the event of an injury
• Participate in special activities to include parents’ night, banquets, and award ceremonies
• Participate as a positive team member in the development and support of excellence within the Athletic Department

Candidates will be required to demonstrate strong organizational skills, effective communication skills with students, and other coaches. Strong candidates will have a thorough understanding of the skills and techniques of tennis. Candidates should support the mission of SPA and be able to support/contribute to student-athlete life outside athletics.
