ABOUT COOPERATIVE BUILDING SOLUTIONS

Founded in 2009, Cooperative Building Solutions is devoted to the success of the cooperative industry. We provide a turnkey solution for the planning, design, construction, and support of electric cooperative facilities and other utility providers. Since our inception, CBS has experienced significant growth and development, currently servicing over 200 clients across 39 states.

POSITION OVERVIEW

Cooperative Building Solutions (CBS) internship program is designed to give students exposure to the full life cycle of construction projects and the office environment. Interns will get to work with all departments across the organization to give them a full view of life at CBS.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Supporting project teams with general contract administration
  • Assist with scheduling, work planning, and sequencing
  • Coordinating material and equipment procurement and delivery
  • Supporting shop drawing and submittal review, tracking, and document control
  • Assist with mechanical, electrical, and piping system coordination
  • Support cost tracking, change management, and billing
  • Assist with project closeout process
  • Perform quantity takeoff from bid documents
  • Review subcontractor bids for scope completeness
  • Contact subcontractors to solicit interest in participating in bid efforts
  • Monitor quality control efforts
  • Participate in jobsite safety walks and inspections
  • Research and recommend construction means, methods, and equipment
  • Perform other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or related field
  • GPA of 3.0 or above
  • Strong communication, organization, and teamwork skills
  • Strong work ethic, problem-solving skills, and an eagerness to learn
  • Willingness to commute and/or relocate for the duration of the internship
