JOB TITLE: Educational Diagnostician
REPORTS TO: Assistant Superintendent of Special Services
FLSA: Exempt

Position Purpose / SummaryThe Educational Diagnostician will facilitate special education processes at the building level.
Qualification RequirementsThe Educational Diagnostician shall hold an appropriate Missouri teacher’s certificate, which includes having a Master’s Degree in an appropriate area.
Performance Responsibilities- Implement the procedures of Fort Zumwalt School District Special Education Services.
- Participate in district and state child find procedures.
- Collaborate with school teams to design and implement effective instructional programming.
- Facilitate meetings required within the special education process.
- Assist with professional development and training for staff.
- Monitor special education compliance at the building level.
- Complete necessary paperwork within given district/state timelines.
- Attend meetings, as appropriate, for students on the special education continuum including but not limited to private separate placement.
- Complete educational assessments, observations, and reports in the evaluation process.
- Provide support for building level special education staff.
- Collaborate with building and district administration on the implementation of best practices in special education.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Assistant Superintendent of Special Services.
- Effectively communicate, verbally, and in written form, with administrators, staff, and the community as needed.
Ability to maintain confidentiality; communicate clearly both orally and in writing, and/or ability to reason and make appropriate decisions. Must be able to work well under pressure and negotiate conflict situations as they arise.
Physical DemandsThe individual who holds this position is regularly required to sit, walk, hear, present, and speak. This employee should have good hearing and vision ability and excellent talking and speech abilities.

Terms of EmploymentThe Educational Diagnostician will follow the current salary schedule in the Professional Agreement.
Extended contract time and/or release time to perform his or her responsibilities shall be payable at the employee’s regular daily rate.
EvaluationPerformance of this job will be evaluated annually in accordance with the provisions of the Board’s policy on evaluation of professional staff personnel.
