OverviewThe Human Resources Generalist supports day-to-day HR operations for a multi-location fitness organization. This role partners closely with club leadership to ensure consistent application of HR policies, effective employee relations, compliance with employment laws, and a positive, inclusive workplace culture aligned with company values.

- Base Salary Range:$65,000 - 75,000 annually (dependent on experience and qualifications)

Job Duties Employee Relations & Compliance
- Serve as a trusted HR resource for managers and employees on workplace concerns, policy interpretation, and performance management.
- Conduct or assist with workplace investigations in a neutral, timely, and compliant manner.
- Support corrective action processes and ensure documentation aligns with company policy and legal standards.
- Promote a respectful, inclusive, and harassment-free work environment.
- Support recruitment efforts forexemptand non-exempt roles, including job postings, screening, and interview coordination.
- Partner with club leadership to ensure consistent hiring practices.
- Facilitate full-cycle onboarding and orientation to support employee engagement and retention.
- Ensure I-9 and new hire documentation compliance.
- Maintain accurate employee records within the HRIS (e.g., Paycom, ADP).
- Process employee changes, including promotions, transfers, terminations, and status updates.
- Assist with reporting related to turnover, attendance, and compliance metrics.
- Process and respond to unemployment claims.
- Support training initiatives related to leadership development, policy awareness, and compliance.
- Assist with employee engagement and recognition initiatives across club locations.
- Reinforce company culture and service expectations consistent with the fitness industry.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field, or equivalent experience
- Experience in Paycom strongly preferred
- 2–4 years of HR Generalist or related HR experience
- Working knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws
- Experience supporting hourly, customer-facing, or multi-location work forces
- Strong documentation, communication, and organizational skills
- Working knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, including wage and hour, anti-discrimination, harassment prevention, and workplace safety
- Knowledge of HR best practices related to employee relations, performance management, and corrective action
- Understanding of recruitment and selection processes for hourly and management roles
- Knowledge of onboarding, I-9, and personnel file compliance requirements
- Familiarity with benefits administration and leave laws (FMLA, ADA, and applicable state leave requirements)
- Knowledge of HRIS systems and electronic recordkeeping standards
- Understanding of workplace investigations and documentation standards
- Awareness of confidentiality requirements and data privacy principles
- Knowledge of employee engagement and retention practices in service-oriented or customer-facing environments
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with employees at all levels
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion and integrity
- Working knowledge of HR policies, procedures, and employment law fundamentals
- Effective problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills
