Kubernetes Engineer; TS Clearance Required

North Point Technology is seeking a Kubernetes Engineer to help enable NGA's Geospatial Intelligence (GEOINT) mission collecting sciences, technology and tradecraft measuring and modeling the globe to provide three-dimensional accuracy of every point in, on, or above the Earth.

• Expertise in setting up, managing, and scaling Kubernetes clusters.
• Deep understanding of Kubernetes components, architecture, and API.
• Experience with Kubernetes networking, security, and storage solutions.
• Proficiency in managing Kubernetes resources such as Pods, Services, Deployments, and Config Maps.
• Strong experience with Docker, including creating, managing, and optimizing container images.
• Familiarity with container orchestration and microservices architecture.
• Experience in designing and implementing CI/CD pipelines with tools like Jenkins, Git Lab CI, or CircleCI.
• Integration of Kubernetes with CI/CD pipelines for automated deployments.
• Proficiency in scripting languages such as Bash, Python, or Go.
• Automation of Kubernetes operations using tools like Helm, Terraform, or Ansible.
• Ability to set up alerting, logging, and monitoring for Kubernetes clusters and applications.
• Experience with cloud providers like AWS, GCP, or Azure, specifically with managed Kubernetes services (EKS, GKE, AKS).
• Understanding of cloud-native principles and tools.

• Knowledge of Kubernetes security best practices, including RBAC, Network Policies, and Pod Security Policies.
• Experience with service mesh implementation and troubleshooting.
• Understanding of Kubernetes networking concepts, including Ingress controllers and CNI plugins.
• Experience in optimizing Kubernetes clusters for performance and cost-efficiency.
• Familiarity with autoscaling, load balancing, and resource allocation strategies.
• Implementation of backup strategies and disaster recovery plans for Kubernetes environments.
• Experience with tools like Velero for Kubernetes backup and restore.
• Experience working in a Dev Ops culture and familiarity with Agile methodologies.
• Collaborative skills to work closely with development, operations, and security teams.
• Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) or Certified Kubernetes Application Developer (CKAD) is a plus.
• Cloud certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Google Cloud Professional Architect) are advantageous.
