Position Overview
This position is a full‑time, day shift role in a 31‑bed Cardiac Telemetry Unit at Barnes‑Jewish St. Peters Hospital, a community hospital serving families in St. Charles, Lincoln, and Warren counties. The role supports the BJC RN Career Ladder, allowing nurses to work at the top of their license and advance through higher ladder levels, which results in a percentage increase in pay aligned with the new job description.
The role involves direct patient care, clinical support, and collaboration with interprofessional teams.
- Facilitates identification and resolution of gaps in care from hospitalization, at discharge, and into the ambulatory setting; assesses patient data to mitigate impending changes in condition and establishes consults as appropriate.
- Leads development and implementation of complex individual care plans in collaboration with the interprofessional team, patient, family, or caregiver.
- Promotes evidence‑based practices by participating in journal clubs, facilitating practice change, conducting literature searches, and disseminating new knowledge.
- Provides feedback to peers and collaborates with leadership to enhance safe patient care and improve patient satisfaction.
- Maintains constant state of alertness and works safely in a safety‑sensitive environment.
- Education:
Nursing diploma or Associate’s degree. - Experience:
2–5 years registered nurse experience. - Licensing:
Active RN license. - Supervisor experience:
None required.
- Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Nursing. - Experience:
5–10 years registered nurse experience.
