Clinical Nurse Wound Care

Position Overview

Full‑time RN position at Progress West Hospital, a BJC Health Care facility in St. Charles County. The role provides direct patient care—including assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation—according to nursing care standards. Responsibilities focus on patient and family centered care, patient education, safety, quality, and professional development. Employees will also have the opportunity to progress through the BJC RN Career Ladder, which can lead to pay increases aligned with new job descriptions.

Schedule:

Monday‑Friday day shift; no weekends, major holidays, or on‑call rotations. Full‑time position.

• Promote patient and family centered care in a healing environment.
• Educate patients and families on illness or injury management, including post‑treatment home care and medication administration.
• Participate in activities promoting patient safety, quality, and regulatory compliance.
• Engage in professional development activities.
• Develop, implement, and document individualized care plans with defined goals in collaboration with the interprofessional team and the patient/family.
• Proactively plan and ensure the communication of the plan of care across the continuum of care.
• Use critical nursing skills to assess and evaluate physical, psychosocial, and emotional needs according to standards of care.
• Assess patient preferences, barriers to involvement, and consider values, emotional, spiritual, cultural, and population‑specific needs.
• Maintain a constant state of alertness and work safely in a safety‑sensitive environment.

  Nursing Diploma/Associate’s in Nursing.

  Registered Nurse (RN).

• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing.
• Wound care experience (preferred).
