Location: St. Peters
Position Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Assistant Nurse Manager to help lead our 42‑bed Medical Intensive Care Unit. The ANM will support the Nurse Manager in daily operations, clinical oversight, staff development, and ensuring high standards of patient care. The role requires strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
Responsibilities- Manages nursing staff, including hiring, training, assigning work, evaluating performance, and supporting professional development plans.
- Ensures productivity and operational goals of the department are met, participating in staffing, revenue, and expense planning.
- Provides and oversees patient care according to planned interventions, documenting according to policy.
- Creates and implements collaborative care plans based on assessment, diagnosis, and treatment.
- Reviews staff hours versus scheduled hours, determines appropriate disposition for variances, and performs payroll updates.
- Prepares staff communications, huddle agendas, and leads meetings; determines staffing needs and assigns overtime.
- Conducts performance evaluations, issues corrective actions or coaching, and follows up on disciplinary actions.
- May participate in developing departmental budgets and ensures adherence to business goals.
- Conducts risk assessments and ensures safety compliance as a safety‑sensitive position.
- BSN Required
- 2+ years of RN experience, with ICU experience preferred.
- Leadership experience preferred.
- Registered Nurse (RN) license required.
- Strong communication, organizational, and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work during night shifts (8 pm or 10 pm start).
