Parks Service Representative; Horticulture

Position Summary:

We are seeking a versatile and dedicated Parks Service Representative to assist in maintaining and enhancing the City’s parks, and trails. This position involves a mix of physical labor, equipment operation, customer interaction, and support for special events and projects. The ideal candidate will be proactive, customer-focused, and able to handle various tasks related to park upkeep and public engagement.

Winter:
Monday-Friday 7:00am-3:30pm (Summer: 6:00am-2:30pm)

• General Maintenance:
  Perform labor to repair and maintain parks, and trails, ensuring they are in optimal condition.
• Event Support:
  Assist with City special events, private reservations, and special projects, providing necessary support and ensuring smooth operations.
• Equipment Operation:
  Operate and conduct minor maintenance on light and heavy equipment, power tools, motorized equipment, and vehicles.
• Customer Interaction:
  Inform and educate guests about park policies, procedures, programs, and memberships, delivering exceptional customer service.
• Application Tasks:
  Apply fertilizers, herbicides, and pesticides as needed for park maintenance.
• Snow Removal:
  Conduct snow removal activities to ensure safety and accessibility during winter months.

• Must be a US citizen or lawfully authorized alien worker.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• One (1) year of applicable experience.
• Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and carry it a reasonable distance and occasionally lift and/or move more than 75 lbs.
• Must have a Motor Vehicle Operators license valid in the state of Missouri.
• Must be able to work days, evenings, weekends and holidays as needed.
