Maintain and continuously improve the calibration program for inspection, measuring, and test equipment (IM&TE) across St. Louis facilities. Independently perform calibration and verification activities, coordinate internal and external calibration services, maintain calibration records, ensure regulatory compliance, and provide technical calibration support to Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality, Service, and other business functions.
Responsibilities- Independently perform calibration and verification activities for inspection, measuring, and test equipment in accordance with approved procedures, manufacturer requirements, and applicable regulatory standards.
- Coordinate internal and external calibration activities to support equipment availability and compliance with established calibration schedules.
- Maintain accurate and complete calibration asset information within the computerized calibration management system.
- Generate, review, maintain, and archive calibration records, certificates, and supporting documentation in accordance with record retention and data integrity requirements.
- Review external calibration certificates for technical accuracy, completeness, traceability, and compliance with company requirements.
- Evaluate and document out-of-tolerance conditions, initiate nonconformance records when required, and support root cause investigations, impact assessments, product or equipment dispositions, and corrective actions.
- Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering, R&D Engineering, Operations, Quality, Service, Facilities, and external service providers to resolve calibration-related issues.
- Communicate calibration schedules, overdue equipment status, equipment failures, missing assets, and other calibration-related issues to impacted departments.
- Identify and recommend improvements to calibration procedures, work instructions, equipment, and processes to enhance efficiency, compliance, equipment reliability, and data integrity.
- Support internal audits, external audits, and regulatory inspections by providing calibration records, technical information, and evidence of compliance.
- Support equipment qualification, validation, commissioning, and transfer activities requiring calibrated instrumentation.
- Provide training and mentorship to less-experienced calibration technicians and equipment users on calibration procedures, equipment handling, documentation practices, and applicable quality system requirements.
- Maintain compliance with applicable company procedures and quality system requirements, including ISO 13485, ISO/IEC 17025, FDA Quality Management System Regulation requirements, and Good Documentation Practices.
- Maintain a valid driver's license and reliable transportation to support local travel between company facilities and external calibration or metrology service providers, as required.
