Streets Maintenance Worker
We are seeking a skilled and dependable Streets Maintenance Worker to support the ongoing maintenance and improvement of the City's roadway infrastructure. This role is responsible for performing a wide range of hands-on work including street and sidewalk repair, signage installation, and pavement marking. The ideal candidate brings practical experience, strong problem-solving abilities, and a commitment to delivering high-quality work that keeps our community safe and running smoothly.
Normal Shift: 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Key Responsibilities:
- Street and Sidewalk Maintenance:
Engage in general labor tasks including asphalt paving, concrete repair, joint and crack sealing, street sign fabrication and installation, and pavement marking. - Traffic Control:
Set up and manage work zones and roadway traffic control to ensure safety and compliance. - Equipment Operation:
Operate and perform minor maintenance on light and heavy equipment, power tools, and motorized equipment. Operate vehicles up to and including Class "B" CDL size with air brakes. - Snow Removal:
Participate in snow removal activities to keep streets and public areas accessible and safe.
Minimum Requirements:
- Must be a U.S. citizen or lawfully authorized alien worker.
- High School graduate or GED certificate.
- One (1) year of applicable experience.
- Must have a Class "B" CDL valid in the state of Missouri or obtain within 120 days of employment. Commercial drivers' instruction permit (CDIP) must be obtained within 60 days of employment.
- Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 50 lbs. and occasionally lift and/or move more than 90 lbs.
