* This position will assume the role of either Utilities Field Operations Worker or Utilities Field Operations Technician based on experience and certifications.
Normal Shift: Mon-Fri; 7:00am-3:30pm (Additional hours will be required for on-call, after-hour responsibilities and emergency response)
Key Responsibilities- Infrastructure Maintenance
:
Perform installation, repair, and maintenance stormwater, and sanitary sewer systems, including valves, hydrants, and open channels. - Landscaping Repairs
:
Restore damaged yards, streets, sidewalks, and driveways after maintenance work. - Equipment Operation
:
Safely operate and maintain light/heavy machinery, power tools, and Class "B" CDL vehicles with air brakes. - Emergency Response
:
Respond to emergencies, including snow removal and system repairs. - Utility Support
:
Locate utilities using maps, GIS, and atlases, and assist in TV truck operations. - Documentation
:
Accurately complete all required paperwork and records. - Safety & Compliance
:
Follow all city safety standards to ensure a safe working environment.
- Must be a U.S. citizen or lawfully authorized alien worker.
- High school graduate or GED certificate.
- One (1) year of applicable experience.
- Must have a Class "B" CDL with air brakes valid in the state of Missouri or obtain within 120 days of employment. Commercial drivers' instruction permit (CDIP) must be obtained within 60 days of employment.
- Ability to frequently lift and/or move 70 lbs. and occasionally lift and/or move 100 lbs.
- Four (4) years of applicable experience
- Must have a Class "A" CDL w/air brakes and tanker endorsement valid in the state of Missouri.
- Skilled in the operation of light and heavy equipment.
- Ability to read plans and blueprints.
