Payroll Analyst II
Location:
St. Petersburg, FL (Hybrid – onsite 2 days per week)
The Payroll Analyst at Jabil is responsible for accurately and efficiently processing payroll for a designated group of employees while ensuring full compliance with applicable federal, state, and local regulations, as well as company policies. This role involves handling complex payroll calculations, reconciliations, and reporting, requiring a strong understanding of payroll principles and attention to detail.
What can you expect to do?- Process multi-state payroll on a scheduled basis, including data entry, calculation of wages, deductions, and taxes, and validation of payroll accuracy.
- Perform payroll reconciliations, identifying and resolving discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable payroll tax laws and company policies.
- Administer employee deductions, garnishments, and benefit contributions.
- Prepare and distribute payroll reports to management, finance, and external agencies.
- Serve as a point of contact for employee payroll inquiries, providing clear and accurate guidance.
- Partner with HR, Benefits, and Accounting teams to ensure accurate and seamless payroll operations.
- Support year-end payroll activities, including W-2 processing and reporting.
- Assist with payroll system updates, enhancements, and testing as needed.
- Maintain accurate payroll records and documentation.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and support best practice development within payroll operations.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field preferred. High school diploma or equivalent required.
- 2–3+ years of payroll processing experience, in a multi-state environment.
- Strong knowledge of payroll principles, tax regulations, and wage and hour laws.
- Experience using Workday or other payroll processing platform.
- Advanced Excel skills (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, complex formulas).
- Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation is a plus.
- Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain payroll concepts clearly.
- Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
