Controller
St. Petersburg, Florida (Hybrid)
Salary: $90,000 - $120,000

Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee all grant accounting, reimbursement reporting, and compliance for federal, state, and local funding sources, including other government-funded programs; partner with program leadership to resolve grant-related financial issues
- Lead month-end and year-end close processes, including review and classification of general ledger activity, journal entries, account reconciliations, financial statement preparation, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
- Manage payroll accounting, allocations, and reimbursements within MIP while collaborating with HR to ensure accurate departmental and grant cost allocations
- Supervise and mentor accounting staff, including the Grant Accountant, Staff Accountant, and AP functions, while coordinating with outsourced accounting resources and providing operational support as needed
- Serve as the hands-on accounting leader within MIP, overseeing daily accounting operations, positive pay administration, check and cash batch review, housing and program invoicing, board reporting, and annual operating and grant budgets
Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree in Accounting or Finance
- Strong nonprofit accounting experience with significant grant accounting and grant compliance exposure
- Hands-on experience with MIP software
