Grant Accountant

St. Petersburg, Florida (Hybrid)

Salary: $65,000 – $85,000

Key Responsibilities:

Manage the full lifecycle of grant accounting activities, including budget tracking, expense monitoring, reimbursement requests, grant reporting, and compliance with federal, state, local, and private funding requirements
Prepare and reconcile grant-related financial reports, maintain supporting documentation, and ensure accurate allocation of expenses in accordance with grant agreements and organizational policies
Collaborate with program managers and department leaders to monitor grant spending, identify budget variances, and provide financial guidance to maximize funding utilization
Assist with month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries, account reconciliations, grant revenue recognition, and preparation of schedules for audits and financial reporting
Maintain grant records within MIP, support external audits and funder reviews, and assist with process improvements that strengthen internal controls and financial compliance

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
3+ years of accounting experience, including nonprofit and grant accounting experience preferred
Strong understanding of grant compliance, cost allocations, and reimbursement-based funding
Experience with MIP Fund Accounting software preferred
Proficient in Excel and financial reporting
Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple deadlines
