Senior Staff Accountant

Job Description

Position Title:

Staff Accountant

Duration: 5 months + Possible Extension

Pay Rate: $40 - $46 per hour on W2

Location:

St. Petersburg, FL (Hybrid – in office 3 days per week)

Reports To:

Accounting Manager Team; may need associate to work overtime during the monthly close

• Prepare journal entries, account analysis, roll forwards and other analysis required for the month‑end close
• Assist in month end closing process for assigned areas
• Prepare and issue various month‑end analysis
• Enter data into SAP
• Interact daily with divisional stakeholders to research discrepancies and resolve non‑compliance issues
• Prepare reports and analysis for consolidated reporting
• Support internal audit requests
• Prepare regulatory reporting in accordance with applicable deadlines
• Participate in process improvement initiatives or other assigned projects

• Bachelor’s Degree in accounting required
• Power BI experience
• 5+ years of related work experience in a corporate accounting team environment
• Must work independently and autonomously with minimum supervision
• Thorough problem‑solving and well‑developed analytical skills
• Strong communication, influencing and negotiation skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel (advanced skills are required)
• Strong interpersonal skills and enjoy working in a highly networked and collaborative team environment
• Very strong variance analysis research experience
• Resourceful, resilient, and capable of managing complex journal entries through resolution
• Strong understanding of financial and operational controls
• Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast‑paced work environment
• Ability to work in an open‑floor office environment
