We are seeking a detail-oriented and collaborative professional to support card services and accounting operations within a credit union environment. This role plays an important part in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting card-related transactions, and helping ensure smooth day-to-day member service operations. The ideal candidate is organized, analytical, and committed to delivering high-quality work in a member-focused setting.
Responsibilities- Process and reconcile card-related transactions, settlements, and general ledger entries.
- Monitor card activity for accuracy, exceptions, and discrepancies, and research issues as needed.
- Support accounting functions including balancing, journal entries, month-end close activities, and reporting.
- Assist with the administration of debit, credit, and related card services.
- Respond to internal inquiries and coordinate with vendors, processors, and team members to resolve issues.
- Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with internal controls, policies, and procedures.
- Identify opportunities to improve processes, efficiency, and accuracy within card services and accounting workflows.
- Support audits, examinations, and reporting requests by preparing documentation and account analysis.
- Experience in accounting, card operations, financial services, or a related administrative function.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to work accurately with financial data.
- Working knowledge of reconciliation practices, general ledger processes, and transaction balancing.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate across teams and with external partners.
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities.
- Comfort working with financial systems, spreadsheets, and standard office software.
- Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
- Prior experience in a credit union or other financial institution.
- Familiarity with card processing platforms and settlement procedures.
- Understanding of regulatory requirements and internal control practices.
- Experience supporting month-end or year-end accounting cycles.
- A collaborative and service-oriented work environment.
