Assistant Project Manager; General Contractor

Ground-Up + TI Projects | Grocery Retail, Big Box & Industrial Construction | Highly Visible PM Role

A growing commercial general contractor is seeking a Project Engineer to support commercial construction projects throughout the Southeast. This opportunity offers exposure to a strong mix of grocery retail, big box retail, light industrial, medical, office, and tenant improvement projects while working closely with Project Managers, Superintendents, subcontractors, and field teams from preconstruction through closeout.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone early in their construction career looking to gain hands‑on exposure across project management, field operations, scheduling, documentation, and overall commercial construction processes within a collaborative GC environment.

• Assist with RFIs, submittals, change orders, shop drawings, and project documentation
• Maintain project management systems including Procore, Bluebeam, and related software
• Support communication between project teams, subcontractors, architects, and field staff
• Participate in project meetings and maintain logs/tracking documentation
• Review construction drawings, specifications, and scopes of work
• Support procurement, scheduling coordination, and material tracking
• Assist with punch lists, closeout documentation, and quality control efforts
• Provide support to field operations and superintendents as needed

• 1–3 years of commercial construction experience or related internship/co‑op experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or related field preferred
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
• Experience with Procore, Bluebeam, Project Sight, or similar software is a plus
• OSHA 10 preferred
