Sr. Estimator - Commercial General Contractor

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Sr. Estimator to join our team at a growing commercial general contractor. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in preparing accurate and competitive estimates for our construction projects, ensuring that we meet client expectations and deliver quality work on time and within budget.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare detailed cost estimates for commercial construction projects based on blueprints, specifications, and other project documentation.
  • Analyze project plans and specifications to identify potential challenges and opportunities for cost savings.
  • Collaborate with project managers, architects, and subcontractors to gather relevant information for accurate estimating.
  • Review and evaluate bids from subcontractors and suppliers to ensure compliance with project requirements.
  • Assist in developing project budgets and timelines, providing financial analysis and recommendations as needed.
  • Maintain a database of costs, materials, and labor rates to improve the accuracy of future estimates.
  • Participate in the bid review process and provide recommendations to secure projects.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as an estimator in the commercial construction industry.
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and processes.
  • Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent analytical and mathematical skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work collaboratively with clients and team members.
  • Experience with design-build projects is a plus.
