Job Responsibilities

• Plans pipe system layout, installation, or repair according to project specifications
• Determines equipment and material needs for each assignment
• Cuts, threads, and bends, pipe to specifications using hand tools and power tools
• Measures and marks pipes for cutting and threading
• Assembles pipes, tubes, and fittings according to specifications
• Inspects work site to identify obstructions or holes that will cause structure weakness
• Inspects, examines, and tests installed systems to ensure quality construction
• Identify and resolve construction site problems
• Provide immediate and accurate communication to the Superintendent
• Enforce the Scherer Construction/OSHA safety standards at all times

• Sound knowledge of various types of construction equipment and construction procedures
• Knowledge of underground structure construction techniques
• Ability to inspect and evaluate the quality of materials
• Knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations
• Ability to identify and resolve problems
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize to meet deadlines
• Self-motivated

• High School Diploma or its equivalent
• 2 years work experience in related field
