Day-to-DayRole
As a Program Assistant at Family Resources Inc., you will play a crucial role in creating a safe, nurturing, and educational environment for youth in our Youth Enrichment Program. Your responsibilities include engaging participants in various enriching academic and personal activities throughout the year, particularly in our after-school and summer Community Out of School Time (COST) program. You will collaborate with a dedicated team, supervise participants, teachers, artists, overlay providers, and volunteers, and ensure smooth program delivery.
Your role will also involve communicating with the Site Supervisor and Program Director, guaranteeing that our clients and their families receive the highest quality of service.
Applicants must be at least 18 years old and hold a high school diploma or equivalent, alongside six semester hours of college credits in early childhood or elementary education. A solid understanding of safety precautions and compliance with childcare licensing standards is crucial, complemented by previous experience working with at-risk youth in educational settings.
Successful candidates will exhibit a strong sense of urgency, exceptional organizational skills, and an optimistic attitude. Key qualities include strong judgment, effective communication skills, and the ability to establish relationships across diverse backgrounds.
Required Skill Set- Minimum age 18 years old.
- High school graduate or equivalent, with at least six (6) semester hours of college credits in early childhood or elementary education.
- Strong organizational skills and an optimistic attitude.
- Knowledge of safety precautions and compliance with safety procedures.
- Previous experience working with at-risk youth, preferably in an educational environment.
- Knowledge of positive youth development, Community Out of School Time (COST) programming, and childcare licensing standards.
- Ability to obtain 40 DCF clock hours in childcare training within 90 days of employment.
- Preferred:
Pinellas County Licensing Board (PCLB) Staff Member in Charge (SMIC) credentials. - CPR/First Aid certification.
- Capability to react calmly in emergency situations.
- Ability to work semi-independently, take initiative, and follow through on assigned tasks.
- Good judgment, common sense, and responsible decision-making in the best interest of clients and the organization.
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational, time management, and verbal/written communication skills.
- Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with individuals from a variety of cultural and ethnic backgrounds and demonstrate awareness and acceptance of cultural differences.
- Background compliant with requirements of the Department of Juvenile Justice and the Department of Children and Families.
- Valid Florida driver’s license, clear driving record, and current automobile insurance.
