Discovery Learning Center (DLC) at Parc Center for Disabilities

On-site | Full-Time | Non-Exempt

At Parc Center for Disabilities, we believe every child deserves the opportunity to learn, grow, and experience life to the fullest. Our Discovery Learning Center is a warm, inclusive preschool serving children ages 2 months to 5 years, including children with diverse abilities.

We are currently seeking a compassionate, patient, and dedicated Classroom Teacher for older two year and three years olds who is passionate about early childhood education and inclusion. If you’re looking for a meaningful role where your work truly impacts children and families every day, this may be the perfect fit.

What You’ll Do

As a Teacher, you will help nurture each child’s social, emotional, cognitive, language, and physical development through engaging and developmentally appropriate learning experiences.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Creating a welcoming, inclusive classroom environment where every child feels safe, supported, and valued
  • Planning and leading engaging lessons using the Creative Curriculum, including music, art, sensory play, and hands‑on learning
  • Supporting children with diverse needs using positive behavior support strategies
  • Tracking developmental progress using Teaching Strategies Gold
  • Building strong partnerships with families through open communication and conferences
  • Maintaining accurate documentation and records to support individualized learning
  • Collaborating with fellow teachers, therapists, and leadership as part of a mission-driven team
  • Following Pinellas County Childcare Licensing Standards and all safety requirements
  • Our classrooms are staffed based on children’s needs, not just minimum ratios, allowing you to focus on quality care, strong relationships, and meaningful instruction.
Requirements What We’re Looking For
  • CDA (Child Development Associate) or formal early childhood education
  • 45 clock hours, or will have within 30 days
  • Minimum 1 year of experience working with young children
  • Experience supporting children with disabilities in an educational or childcare setting
  • Valid Florida Driver’s License with an acceptable driving record
  • Ability to meet physical demands of the role (standing, lifting up to 50 lbs., active supervision)
Ideal Candidate Qualities
  • A genuine passion for working with children and families
  • Patience, empathy, and a strong commitment to inclusion
  • Knowledge of developmental delays and disabilities (e.g., ASD, ADHD, sensory needs)
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to adapt teaching strategies to meet individual learning styles
