Job Title
Provides technical oversight for DoD ammunition production programs through business capture, production support, ballistic test validation, continuous improvement, and design/development efforts ensuring compliant, on-schedule delivery and resolving technical issues to maintain safety and meet all contractual requirements. You will also provide technical support for complex program activities by developing and applying advanced engineering theories, methods and research techniques in the investigation and solution of complex technical problems.

Performs a range of assignments related to job discipline. Uses prescribed guidelines or policies in analyzing situations. Receives a moderate level of guidance and direction. Essential Functions- Applies standard engineering techniques to design, analyze, test, maintain, repair, or improve products, components, or assemblies.
- Analyzes, develops and evaluates systems.
- Improves and maintains current systems or creates brand new projects.
- Designs and drafts blueprints, visits systems in the field and manages projects.
- Applies engineering techniques and analyses within the scope of the assignment.
- Required education and experience: Associate's Degree and 2-4 years' experience
- Discipline/Major: Engineering degree required
- Critical professional related technical skills; computer skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Preferred education and experience: Bachelor's Degree in Manufacturing Engineering or Mechanical Engineering or Industrial Technology or Chemical Engineering.
- Knowledge, skills & abilities: Oral and written communication skills. Critical thinking skills. Problem solving skills. Mathematic skills. Computer skills. Technical expertise.
- Experience with in chemical manufacturing or the defense industry highly desired.
- Experience in energetic materials field.
- Understanding of the design and composition of existing products and engineering/business processes and principles.
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position at a desk and/or computer for extended periods of time.
- Requires regular movement throughout GD-OTS facilities.
- Work may require employee to work inside and outside with exposure to changing climate and/or operate machinery.
Up to 25% travel likely.
