  • Evaluate design alternatives based on performance, manufacturability, cost, weight, reliability, and schedule
  • Coordinate engineering activities with shipyards, fabricators, OEMs, subcontractors, and suppliers
  • Interpret and apply ABS, DNV, USCG, and other applicable marine regulations and standards
  • Support classification and regulatory review processes
  • Participate in design reviews, technical meetings, and customer discussions
  • Support prototype development, fabrication, testing, commissioning, and field deployment
  • Identify and resolve engineering issues throughout the design and build process
  • Collaborate across mechanical, electrical, structural, systems, and naval architecture disciplines
  • Contribute to technical proposals, statements of work, specifications, and other business-development activities
  • Provide technical guidance to junior engineers and contribute to establishing engineering standards and processes
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Naval Architecture, Ocean Engineering, Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering
    , or a related discipline
  • 5+ years of professional experience in maritime engineering, vessel design, naval architecture, offshore structures, or a related field

  • Strong communication and technical documentation skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a small, multidisciplinary, fast-paced engineering environment
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with ABS, DNV, USCG, or other classification/regulatory requirements
  • Experience with offshore platforms, floating structures, marine infrastructure, or defense vessels
  • Experience supporting Navy, Coast Guard, or other government maritime programs
  • Proficiency with marine CAD/design tools such as Rhino3D, AutoCAD, Solid Works, Siemens NX, Ship Constructor, NAPA, or similar
  • Experience with ANSYS, FEA, CFD, MATLAB, GHS, Orca3D, or other engineering analysis tools
  • Professional Engineer (P.E.) license or active progress toward licensure
  • Experience developing technical proposals, SOWs, or responses to government/commercial RFPs
