We are seeking a Design Engineer with 5+ years of maritime engineering or vessel design experience to play a key role in the design and development of advanced offshore maritime platforms.
This is a highly hands-on position suited to an engineer who enjoys working across disciplines and wants ownership throughout the full product development lifecycle - from concept and detailed design through fabrication, testing, and deployment

You will work closely with naval architects, mechanical and electrical engineers, shipyards, fabricators, suppliers, and company leadership to turn innovative maritime concepts into operational platforms.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and execute marine and naval architecture designs for offshore platforms and maritime systems
- Take ownership of engineering work from concept development through detailed design, fabrication, and commissioning
- Perform and/or support hydrostatic, stability, hydrodynamic, structural, and weight analyses
- Develop 3D CAD models, engineering drawings, layouts, and technical documentation
- Design and integrate marine structures, equipment, and systems
- Evaluate design alternatives based on performance, manufacturability, cost, weight, reliability, and schedule
- Coordinate engineering activities with shipyards, fabricators, OEMs, subcontractors, and suppliers
- Interpret and apply ABS, DNV, USCG, and other applicable marine regulations and standards
- Support classification and regulatory review processes
- Participate in design reviews, technical meetings, and customer discussions
- Support prototype development, fabrication, testing, commissioning, and field deployment
- Identify and resolve engineering issues throughout the design and build process
- Collaborate across mechanical, electrical, structural, systems, and naval architecture disciplines
- Contribute to technical proposals, statements of work, specifications, and other business-development activities
- Provide technical guidance to junior engineers and contribute to establishing engineering standards and processes
- Bachelor's degree in Naval Architecture, Ocean Engineering, Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering
, or a related discipline - 5+ years of professional experience in maritime engineering, vessel design, naval architecture, offshore structures, or a related field
- Demonstrated experience designing, modifying, or engineering marine vessels, offshore platforms, or complex maritime systems
- Strong understanding of naval architecture fundamentals including:
- Hydrostatics
- Stability
- Weight & center of gravity
- Hydrodynamics
- Structural design
- Marine systems integration
- Experience taking designs from concept through detailed engineering and fabrication
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications, and regulatory requirements
- Experience working directly with shipyards, fabricators, OEMs, vendors, or subcontractors
- Strong communication and technical documentation skills
- Ability to work effectively in a small, multidisciplinary, fast-paced engineering environment
- Experience with ABS, DNV, USCG, or other classification/regulatory requirements
- Experience with offshore platforms, floating structures, marine infrastructure, or defense vessels
- Experience supporting Navy, Coast Guard, or other government maritime programs
- Proficiency with marine CAD/design tools such as Rhino3D, AutoCAD, Solid Works, Siemens NX, Ship Constructor, NAPA, or similar
- Experience with ANSYS, FEA, CFD, MATLAB, GHS, Orca3D, or other engineering analysis tools
- Professional Engineer (P.E.) license or active progress toward licensure
- Experience developing technical proposals, SOWs, or responses to government/commercial RFPs
- Experience working in a startup or entrepreneurial engineering environment
