The Risk Analyst supports the runoff team by monitoring and assessing financial and operational risk tied to terminated/runoff agents and their outstanding bond exposure. This role identifies high‑risk accounts early, tracks key deadlines (forfeiture/judgment windows), supports remediation strategies (collections/payment plans, recovery and legal coordination), and ensures documentation and follow‑through are completed accurately and on time.
Key Responsibilities Risk Monitoring & Analysis- Track and assess risk for terminated/runoff agents, focusing on open liability, forfeitures/judgments, and outstanding powers.
- Identify exposure drivers such as unexecuted/missing powers, aging open liability, recurring forfeitures, and unpaid receivables.
- Maintain organized risk notes and document key account decisions for auditability and continuity.
- Monitor forfeitures and judgments by jurisdiction and ensure time‑sensitive actions occur (e.g., motions/petitions where permitted, payment timing, documentation for set‑asides/discharges).
- Use court minutes/online systems and direct court contact as needed to validate status and avoid missed deadlines.
- Accounts receivable research and coordinate appropriate communication/follow‑up (including demand letters and payment plans where applicable).
- Documentation for payments (BIC/BSS/BUF), ensuring proper backup, tracking, and that discharges/status updates are completed after payment where required.
- Ensure runoff files include required reporting and documentation and remain current throughout the runoff period.
- Support end‑of‑runoff steps such as BUF closure, affidavit tracking, confirming liabilities cleared, and verifying required reports are clean before funds are released.
- Monitor and coordinate activity with recovery agents and outside counsel on runoff matters as needed.
- Communicate professionally with agents and, where appropriate, courts/clerks/DA offices to obtain status updates and move items forward.
- Some experience in an office/operations role where you handled paperwork, deadlines, and follow‑ups.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to stay organized with multiple tasks at once.
