Position Summary
The Admissions / Marketing Director is responsible for managing the facility’s census development through effective admissions coordination, referral relationship management, and strategic marketing initiatives. This role serves as the primary liaison between the facility, hospitals, physicians, families, and community organizations to ensure a smooth admissions process and promote the facility’s services. The Director works to maintain and grow occupancy while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and delivering excellent customer service.

- Oversee and coordinate the entire admissions process from referral to resident move-in.
- Review referral information, clinical documentation, and payer sources to determine admission eligibility.
- Collaborate with nursing, therapy, and administration to ensure appropriate placement of residents.
- Communicate effectively with families, hospitals, and referral sources regarding admission status and requirements.
- Ensure all admission paperwork and documentation are completed accurately and in compliance with regulatory guidelines.
- Maintain census tracking and provide daily/weekly census reports.
- Develop and implement marketing strategies to increase facility census and strengthen community presence.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with hospitals, physicians, case managers, discharge planners, and community partners.
- Conduct regular outreach visits to referral sources to promote facility programs and services.
- Represent the facility at community events, healthcare meetings, and networking opportunities.
- Identify new referral sources and opportunities for partnership.
- Provide tours to prospective residents and families.
- Address inquiries regarding services, levels of care, insurance coverage, and admission procedures.
- Maintain a positive experience for families and referral sources throughout the admissions process.
- Track referral activity, conversion rates, and census trends.
- Maintain CRM or referral tracking systems.
- Provide marketing and census reports to the Administrator.
- Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Marketing, Business, or related field preferred.
- 2–5 years of experience in admissions, marketing, or business development in healthcare, preferably in long-term care, skilled nursing, or rehabilitation facilities.
- Strong knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and managed care processes preferred.
- Excellent communication, relationship-building, and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
