VP- Head of Enterprise Data Governance Operations

We are seeking a Vice President, Head of Enterprise Data Governance & Operations to lead and mature an enterprise-wide data governance operating model and oversee data operations that ensure organizational data is trusted, high-quality, well-defined, and effectively leveraged to drive business and client value. This leader will manage data governance and data operations professionals, partner closely with business and technology stakeholders across wealth management, capital markets, and other enterprise functions, and establish strong data ownership, stewardship, and accountability across the organization.

The ideal candidate is forward-looking and understands how modern data governance must evolve to support advanced analytics, AI/ML, emerging regulatory expectations, and scalable data-driven decision making. This role requires the ability to translate governance and data management practices into tangible business outcomes.

• Lead and evolve the enterprise data governance framework, including stewardship models, ownership structures, governance councils, and data domains
• Manage data operations functions such as data quality monitoring, issue remediation workflows, metadata curation, and master/reference data management
• Act as a Data Product Owner
  , partnering closely with business units to understand data and analytics needs and translate them into actionable roadmaps
• Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing team of data stewards, governance analysts, and data quality/lineage professionals
• Drive enterprise metadata management and data lineage capabilities in partnership with data architecture and engineering teams
• Establish and monitor data quality rules, controls, KPIs, and dashboards to ensure transparency and continuous improvement
• Embed governance guardrails into AI and machine learning use cases, supporting responsible data use, model transparency, and model risk expectations
• Partner with senior business leaders to ensure data governance directly enables business value, operational efficiency, and enhanced client experiences
• Prepare governance maturity assessments, data quality trend analysis, and risk posture reporting for executive leadership, audit, and regulatory stakeholders
• Lead data literacy initiatives and foster a Data Steward / Data Champion community to strengthen shared accountability
• Stay current on industry trends, regulatory changes, and emerging technologies to continuously evolve governance and data operations strategy

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business, Finance, or a related field
• 10+ years of experience in data governance, data operations, data management, or enterprise data programs, ideally within financial services
• Demonstrated success building and leading enterprise data governance or stewardship programs
• Strong understanding of core financial services data domains (e.g., client, account, holdings, transactions, performance, pricing, market data)
• Experience with enterprise metadata and lineage platforms (e.g., Collibra, Informatica, Alation, Ab Initio, or similar tools)
• Ability to evaluate, operationalize, and drive adoption of governance tooling across the enterprise
• Familiarity with AI governance, model lifecycle controls, and responsible data use practices
• Exceptional communication and influencing skills, with the ability to partner across business and technology teams
• Proven ability to link governance initiatives to measurable business outcomes
• CDMP or similar data management / governance certification preferred
