This role is part of Blue Origin Operations, which is comprised of Integrated Supply Chain, Test Operations, Safety, Quality, and Mission Assurance. This includes Manufacturing and Supply Chain support across all Blue Origin facilities.

We are seeking experienced Managers of Manufacturing Operations & Assembly to lead teams dedicated to advancing human spaceflight through innovative manufacturing and assembly solutions. In these key roles, you will oversee production and execution of manufacturing operations-including process optimization, work instruction generation, resource allocation, and efficient workflow configuration. You will work collaboratively within integrated product teams and partner closely with engineering, quality, tooling, logistics, supply chain, operations, and project management to deliver high-quality hardware on aggressive timelines.

The ideal candidate is a hands‑on leader with strong operational and technical acumen, passionate about driving continuous improvement and fostering high‑performing teams in a fast‑paced, dynamic aerospace environment.

Position Specific Details

  • Location: Space Coast, FL

  • Relocation: Available

  • Potential travel: Up to 10% of the time for training and other support activities

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead, mentor, and manage teams of technicians and/or engineers across production, integration, and assembly of lunar vehicle hardware and subcomponents.

  • Build positive team culture, encourage open knowledge sharing, and provide guidance for continuous growth.

  • Guide manufacturing development and process optimization including build & flow and production planning to meet aggressive delivery schedules.

  • Collaborate closely with engineering, quality, supply chain, and operations functions to address manufacturing challenges and strategic objectives.

  • Champion and drive continuous improvement initiatives to elevate process efficiency, safety, and product quality.

  • Monitor production and operational performance, troubleshoot issues, and provide regular updates to senior management to support decision-making.

  • Ensure compliance with safety, regulatory, and company standards.

  • Manage budget and resource allocation for manufacturing activities, including new product introductions and scaling production capabilities.

Team Focus & Domain Expertise
  • Lunar Lander Integration & Structural Assembly — Oversee integration and structural assembly manufacturing operations for the Lunar Lander vehicle. Take ownership of the product lifecycle—from early development through delivery—ensuring quality, efficiency, and alignment with program goals. This role demands a hands‑on manager who excels at fostering team growth, mentorship, and operational excellence. You will lead day‑to‑day production, troubleshoot issues, and collaborate with integrated product teams to deliver launch‑ready hardware for lunar missions.

  • Lunar Transporter / Lunar Mission Operations — Lead a manufacturing ops & assembly team responsible for producing the Lunar Transporter vehicle and subcomponents. Develop and implement efficient production systems, ensuring stringent quality control and optimized supply chain logistics. Guide your team through process planning, build & flow, manufacturing development, and test‑readiness. Lead development of fabrication specifications, acceptance/test plans, and interface control models (ICMs).

    Division focus:
    Lunar Mission Operations ensures the Lunar Transporter vehicle is fully developed, assembled, and tested to support lunar exploration.
