As a Machine Operator - Manufacturing, you will monitor and support production equipment used in the Valpak Manufacturing Center. Your role is to keep equipment running efficiently, maintain quality standards, and quickly troubleshoot minor issues to minimize downtime.
You will work closely with Senior Process Technicians and other team members to keep production moving and continuously improve our manufacturing process.
Manufacturing equipment is automated and you will monitor the production line to ensure continuity in the production process, identify system issues for resolution and reset alarms as required.
Key Responsibilities- Operate production equipment safely and efficiently
- Troubleshoot routine mechanical or process issues
- Perform preventative maintenance on equipment
- Monitor product quality and identify issues
- Communicate equipment or production concerns to team leaders
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment
- Crosstrain on other equipment within the production area
- Participate in training through the VMC Progression Program
- 1-2 years of stable manufacturing or warehouse experience preferred
- Ability to operate or learn to operate Powered Industrial Truck (PIT) equipment
- Mechanical aptitude and problem-solving ability
- Ability to follow work instructions and production specifications
- Ability to distinguish a full range of color
- Basic computer and Office application skills. SAP experience preferred.
- Basic to intermediate math computation
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to stand or walk for long periods
- Ability to lift or move up to 40 pounds
- Ability to work around industrial equipment and noise (hearing protection provided)
- Ability to climb ladders and consistently work at varying heights
- Fast-paced noisy production environment using hearing protection
- Climate-controlled manufacturing facility
- Overtime and weekend work may be required
