Charge Registered Nurse (RN) – St. Petersburg, FL
A leading healthcare organization is seeking an experienced Charge Registered Nurse (RN) to join its Operating Room team. This full-time leadership role offers the opportunity to provide exceptional perioperative care while supporting staff development and promoting clinical excellence in a collaborative, patient-centered environment.
Responsibilities- Provide direct nursing care to a sub-specialty surgical patient population using the nursing process and established clinical standards
- Coordinate and oversee daily patient care activities and support efficient operating room operations
- Utilize effective leadership and managerial skills to guide patient care delivery
- Serve as a professional role model, mentor, and clinical resource for nursing team members
- Promote safe, evidence-based, and patient-centered care practices
- Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and interdisciplinary team members to ensure optimal patient outcomes
- Delegate appropriate patient care activities and monitor the quality of care delivery
- Support staff development, education, and onboarding initiatives
- Perform preceptor and charge nurse responsibilities as assigned
- Demonstrate professional accountability and participate in ongoing professional development activities
- Share organizational information and foster a positive, team-oriented work environment
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- ACLS certification required if applicable to the department
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), bachelor's degree in a related field, or Associate Degree in Nursing with an RN certification in a related field required
- Minimum of two years of acute care or interventional/procedural RN experience required
- Minimum of two years of Operating Room RN experience strongly preferred
- Previous charge nurse and operating room board-running experience preferred
- Nursing specialty certification preferred
- Strong leadership, communication, interpersonal, and critical thinking skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced surgical environment
